Jingle all the way

December 25, 2010

Despite being a hindu (well that’s what is on my passport though i don’t believe in religion) every Christmas is some what special. I might not go to the church and celebrate it or even go for any party but still it is a day that I do cherish a lot.

This year I’m in thekaddy (Kerela)Β  and wow the atmosphere here is what the Christmas spirit is all about! The city/town is alive. Churches lit up and the place dressed up in glitter and festivity.

It’s an amazing feeling to be surrounded by so much of happiness. Delhi on the other hand seems rather bland. No mall can compare to the spirit in which Kochi, Munnar or Thekaddy dwell.

The moment I return to Delhi I’ll put up all the photographs. It’s breathtaking to say the least. Being in a nice and cosy bamboo cottage next to the Periyar Tiger Reserve, travelling through the tea estates, or dipping one’s feet in the tiny brook that passes by while munching on home-made chocolates. HEAVENLY!!

Though the quiet, calm and serene environment is in stark contrast with the lively town, both are welcomed.

I’d like to thank my mom for making this Christmas special like numerous other Christmas the white snowy christmas in Gulmarg, the bong style in Kolkata, the beautiful guju one in Gir and lots others. But the most for the ones back home spent in the bed with loads of movies and popcorn with you and abbu.
